How do I take better band promo and live photos?

I have a Canon Rebel XSI and I’d like to start working on band’s promo shoots and live photos. I go to concerts all the time and take pictures but I’d like to take professional shots with proper editing and technique.

The first live shot was shot with a fisheye lens .. there is no fisheye lens made for Canon APS-C sensored DSLR’s by Canon … Look for the Tokina 10-17 mm fisheye zoom if you want to shoot shots like that … and an On Stage Press Pass.

The second set of photos were shot using something like the fine 24-70 f/2.8 mm Canon

If you have not already spent the $700 + for Photoshop CS4, look into Lightroom. Not of the shots you showed us needed any fancy correction, since for the most part, your photographic skills and the quality of your camera should not require much more than a little tweaking with the levels tool
