Can the government deduct money from my paycheck for a loan from the old school?

My GF had a loan from the old school who forgot in 2005, are now less 15% each paycheck until it is paid in full. Im not sure that the loan is, I'm guessing the only way that this can happen is if the government is to Sallie Mae, that is me. Is it possible for them to do this without the consent or any document to let my gf know that this going to happen? Thank you.

Sometimes they will work to reduce payment options for payments. They can also reenstate your loan after months of timely payments, so maybe a good thing to do if you ever want to go back to school … They come after you .. . Only her because you all arent married.
